Introduction to Mythic Divination: Collecting the Puzzle Pieces
Welcome, beloved!
For all lessons, please have a journal and writing utensil while watching the video. This first week is an introduction to the longing energy, divination, working with myth, and framing the oracle as a “bridge” between the field of unseen intelligence and you, as the reader. Watch the video then allow at least 30 minutes for the homework and reflection.
Homework: Puzzle Pieces
In your journal, orient your answers to the following in any design form you see fit (simple lists work, but so do circles, pyramids, mandalas, etc). If you want to get weird with it, have a different color of post-it note for each of these categories and take up some space on a wall, orienting them as you like.
What lands have been your greatest teachers? These can be childhood homes, places you visited once then never again, sacred lands you long for but have never visited, or any land that feels like it has been a great teacher for you. Name ten teaching lands.
What were the lessons of these lands? Name one lesson for each land.
For what do you feel most grateful in your life right now? Name ten gratitudes.
What do you fear most right now? Name ten fears.
What memories do you have of being purely present in the moment, in the flow with the cosmic infinite? These are fleeting moments in time (not long periods of feeling satisfied/happy/etc). Name ten moments of presence.
What signs or omens have you been receiving from dreams, nature, synchronicities, or the Otherworld? Name as many you can; one is fine, one hundred is fine.
Looking at these puzzle pieces, are you reminded of any fairy tale or myth? There won’t be one story that embodies absolutely everything, but maybe there is a thread between a few of the puzzle pieces. Make a quick list of any myth or fairy tale that bubbles to the surface of your mind then let it be. Wait for the story to come back for you.
In reflection:
With what myths or fairy tales did you resonate most during childhood?
Who were you in those stories?
Why did this story speak to you so loudly?
