Mythic Writing with Macha and Maeve
Mythic Writing with Macha and Maeve: Co-Creating with the Archetypes
of Embodied Sovereignty, Sacred Appetite, Divine Rage, and Heathen Belonging
Some say the gods left these lands long ago, but I say the land is god.
I, Macha, am still here. Sing for me.
Some say the gods left these lands long ago, but I say the land is god.
I, Maeve, am still here. Dream with me.
For both sessions, bring a journal, writing utensil, and your wild imagination.
Session One: I, MACHA
Macha’s mythology drips with divine rage. She is the scorned
mother and the fallen, flame-haired Goddess of the land. She is an embodied hex, a living altar to sacred anger. She is the bones twisting in the dirt. During this first session, Danielle will lead participants through a revisioning of Macha’s myth, inviting participants to write their own personal myths in reflection, myths of initiation and becoming.
Session Two: I, Maeve
To know Maeve is to know sacred intoxication and a wild, timeless sovereignty. To know Maeve is fall in love with the feeling flesh, to become a skin-and-bone invocation and moving, heathen appetite. During this session, Danielle will lead a revisioning of Maeve’s myth, inviting participants to tell their own stories of divine hunger and belonging to place.
