Only in the dark do we hear the songs of our inner wise one. We scry in the shadows. Deep darkness is fertile terrain for the seer-poet, after all, and prophecy was the original Yuletide gift. At Solstice, we call to the Otherworld, light a low-burning fire, and ask our inner soothsayer for the truth.
In this one-day, 3-part immersion, participants will name memory as muse, stepping over winter’s threshold into the snowscapes of Yule’s Dreaming Time, listening to the eternal voice of the “wise self,” and weaving personal prophecies for the new year from vision, poetry, and mythic imagery.

Note that it is recommended to move through these sessions in order. The recordings will be available for one year here or you are able to download them and keep them forever and ever.
recommended materials for all sessions:
1. A dedicated, sizable journal to become your Book of Visions for 2023
2. A writing utensil
3. If you’re artsy, colored markers, crayons, stamps, or anything else you would like to embellish your book.
4. One, large piece of paper to create the seer’s map (18x24” ideally)
5. Four small, natural objects that seem to find you. We will use these in our scrying work. These are objects that, to you, represent Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn. Examples: A stone, bone, seed, leaf, flower, shell… you get it. Name these four objects your teachers for now. Build a small “seer’s altar” to be near you during the class if you’re able.

Session 1: The Seer’s Map of Memory, Myth, and Muse

In the first session, participants create their “seer’s map,” the skeleton of their “Book of Visions,” using their own personal dream symbols, memories of otherworldly encounters, and imagined omens as muse. Using simple scrying techniques, participants will begin to sense the psychic landscape of their seer’s “dreaming time,” sensing archetypes as energetic houses of meaning, and softening to the visions that come.

Session 2: Prophecies of Ice, Storm, and Tender Roots

In the second session, participants will begin their “Book of Visions” by using word-witchery techniques to write 6 prophecies, 3 each for winter and spring of 2023, sourcing their wisdom from their seer’s map and communing with the “inner wise one,” the yet-to-come version of themselves who knows how this strange story ends.

Session 3: Prophecies of Heat and Haunted Hearts

In the final session, participants will complete their “Book of Visions” by writing the final 7 prophecies for summer and autumn 2023, considering how their visions are a small story showing them what is to come. Danielle will invite participants to name a guiding “story lantern” from their prophecies, a mythic lens through which to see what comes. We will end with a deep discussion of writing as divination, with each participant beholding the larger story they are living in the flames of their own oracular hearth, their inner seer’s altar.
An optional sharing circle will take place from 3:30pm-4pm ET. Live participants can choose to stay on for this extended portion of the program (the sharing circle will not be recorded).
