These are the haunted dusks of the bone-gatherers, and I know myself as one.
Our ceremonies are born of story and song, of oracular firelight and wandering within the ‘twixt and ‘tween. We ask ourselves at Samhain, at the end of the wildest year we have ever lived, what has fallen into the bone-pile. Here in our mythic underworld, we wonder what fleshless remnants do we wish to keep after this strange chapter in the world story ends, and what shape will our bone-huts take?
Welcome to Our Bone-Hut
Over these liminal days of 10/29 and 10/30, we will go deep together. We will tend to the spirit of our underworld moments. We will raise our hoods and howl moonward. We will be marked by the stories of our dead and build wild altars from prophetic stones and the blood-stained bones of who we used to be before our inner wise one began singing for us.
Mapping the Bone-Hut
A Few Guidelines:
Unless otherwise noted, the only materials you need for the events are a journal, writing utensil, and candle. If you can have a dedicated candle for this retreat, that’s best. The color and shape is entirely up to you.
Each event has its own link.
Each event is password protected. The password for all events is BoneHut (case-sensitive)
All times are listed in ET.
Every event will be recorded. The recording links are different from the links to join live. At the end of each day, the “join live” links will be replaced here with the recording links. The recordings take a little time to process and will not be immediately available (For instance, if an event just ended, it will be a few hours before the recording link is posted here. Please be patient with us hags).
The recordings will be available through the links for one year and a day. You can choose to download them and keep them forever and ever if you like.
Please make sure you are using the most updated version of Zoom. In the unforeseen event that there is a collective Zoom tech-glitch, please refresh and check this page. If there is nothing posted here, and you are having trouble entering the session, please make sure you are using the most up-to-date version of Zoom (1) then email us at TheHagSchool@Gmail.Com (2).
Bone-Hut Community Agreements
Confidentiality. What happens in the bone-hut stays in the bone-hut.
Body Kindness. Please tend to your body. Move when you need to move, drink water, and feel free to turn off the video and look off-screen every so often to serve your eyes.
Psyche Kindness. There are many limitations to our online container. As Dr. Estes says, we cannot “see the weather passing over your head” in a virtual environment. Please take care, and, if you feel your psyche putting a boundary up, opt out.
Tending to the spirit of the moment. Let each event be an encounter with something new, some piece of the mystery. The online context can invite a casual approach to the work, but we welcome participants to be fully present, fully here with us. Name these moments as treasures and treasures they will be.
Protecting the integrity of the circle. Please do not share any links or materials outside of our circle for obvious reasons.
Opinions. In the event we have an optional sharing or reflection circle, know that opinions can be asked for but not freely given.
Boundaries. Please do not contact anyone in this circle, including teachers, outside of email unless otherwise noted.
